Hi, I’m Thomas

I’m the Founder and coach at The Breath Coach. I live in Devon on the South West Coast of the UK with my partner Francesca and 3 young children.

I’m passionate about sharing the benefits associated with functional breathing as it has profoundly impacted my life. My journey has taken me from the corporate world in London and feeling burned out to being healthy, happy, and full of energy. At age 45, I’m feeling the best I ever have, and looking back wish I had found this free health and performance tool earlier.

As a breathing coach, I specialise in coaching transformative breathing techniques that enhance your health, happiness, and performance. Whether you seek improved general physical and mental wellbeing or a competitive advantage in both amateur and elite sports, I am your breathing coach. I give you the tools and techniques to enhance your breathing, resulting in improved health, happiness, performance, and recovery.

Why Breathing?


Our breathing plays a pivotal role in our lives, overseeing our respiration which occurs 23,000 times daily or 7 million breaths annually. This autonomic function is essential for our survival and has a profound significance to our health and performance. The body's intelligence enables it to continuously adjust and modulate our breathing patterns and nervous system balance throughout each moment, second, and minute of the day.

it's evident that our breathing patterns play a pivotal role in our physiological, and psychological wellbeing. When our breath becomes rapid, shallow, and stressed, it reflects our own stress levels, which we acknowledge as detrimental to our health. Conversely, when we adopt light, slow and deep breathing, a sense of calmness envelops us, fostering both our physical and mental wellness.

What Can I Expect From a 1:1 with Thomas?

My1:1’s will give you the tools to change and adapt your breathing to improve the way you feel, move, perform, and recover both mentally and physically.

My courses have been designed as your route to breathing yourself back to your natural, healthy state. Every one of us was born with perfect breathing mechanics which over time became dysfunctional through a mixture of bad habits, stress, or possibly a trauma or life experience. The good news is we can relearn functional breathing.

I provide you with the tools to take control of your breath and wellbeing so you can apply them to what suits you in everyday life, be it creating calm through managing stress or giving yourself an advantage over your competitors in your chosen sports.

We spend time together gaining knowledge and testing your physiology, biomechanics, and biochemistry. Science tells us that bringing awareness to your breath and practicing breathwork, can increase oxygen uptake which creates a whole plethora of health benefits. Together we can make changes to your breathing to improve some or all of the following-

7-Week 1:1 Course- Online or in Person

To begin, my focus will be on what you want to achieve from the course, as well as a thorough examination of your health, overall wellness, and daily routines- it will be tailored exclusively to your unique needs. As your breathing coach, my role involves recognising this and designing the programming with your well-being and physical condition in mind. We will cover the following areas:

  • Sports Performance and Recovery- specific to your sport.

  • Breath Awareness- Feel and connect to yourself

  • Functional v’s Dysfunctional Breathing
    Your CO2 Tolerance- How tolerant or sensitive are you to carbon dioxide?

  • Daily Breathwork Practices including breath holds to increase CO2 tolerance for increased health, wellbeing, and performance.

  • Mastering nasal and diaphragmatic (belly) breathing.

  • Breathing light, slow, and deep (LSD)

  • Meditation- Free your busy mind.

  • Stress Resilience- Reduce your stress and anxiety.

  • Sleep- How to breathe yourself into a deep sleep for recovery and restoration.

  • Snoring- Stop snoring for a peaceful and restful night’s sleep for all.

  • Sleep Hygiene- Evening rituals to increase sound sleep.

The course runs for 7 weeks. Here is how it works-

  • The first session is 1.5 hours- this gives us plenty of time to assess your breathing and find what’s needed to move your health forward quickly.

  • Sessions, weeks 2 onwards last 1 hour.

  • 1 session a week during weeks 1, 2, and 3.

  • Following session 3 we take a break for 3 weeks to enable you to go deep into self-practice before returning for session 4 in week 7 to examine your data and progress.

  • You have full contact and support with me personally over the 7-week course through scheduled phone calls, messages, WhatsApp, email, or online calls.

  • As a breathing coach, it’s my responsibility to hold you to account by ensuring you feel supported and are adhering to your programming for guaranteed health and performance improvements.

  • You will begin to see progress within the 1st few days of working with me and substantial life-changing progress after 7 weeks.
